Getting here
31 Milverton Street, East End, Adelaide SA 5000
Inside the city grid, one block west of the parklands and two minutes from Rundle Street. The front door is on Milverton Street, and the old loading door on Hessian Lane is the back way in, which takes a room key after 6 pm.

From the airport
Adelaide Airport is about 9 km west. A taxi or rideshare takes 18 to 25 minutes outside peak and drops you at the Milverton Street door. The JetBus runs into the city, and from there it's a ten minute walk east along North Terrace.
By train or coach
Adelaide Railway Station on North Terrace is a flat 14 minute walk. The central bus station on Franklin Street is about 20 minutes on foot, or one connection on the free City Connector.
Trams and buses
The tram runs along North Terrace, three minutes north of the door, with the Entertainment Centre at one end of the line and Glenelg beach at the other. The free City Connector loop stops at the end of the street.
Parking
The hotel has no car park, and Hessian Lane is a service lane that can't take guest cars. Two blocks west there's a public multi-storey, and metered street parking is free after 6 pm and on Sundays. Reception will give you the current rates and a map.
The neighbourhood
The East End, after the market moved out
This corner of the grid was the fruit and produce market until the 1980s, hence the streets wide enough for carts and the stone warehouses where you might expect offices. What replaced the market is on a small scale: wine bars in old loading bays, a cinema, two bookshops and a run of restaurants along Rundle Street that fill up from seven.
By city standards it's quiet. The noise arrives on Friday and Saturday between eleven and one, mostly on Rundle Street, and rooms on the lane side hear almost none of it.

Out of town
Hills in twenty five minutes, Barossa in an hour
The Adelaide Hills start where the freeway climbs out of the city, and the first cellar doors are about twenty five minutes from the door. The Barossa is an hour north, McLaren Vale forty five minutes south, and the Fleurieu coast about an hour and a quarter.
Most cellar doors shut at five, and a good number close on Mondays and Tuesdays. Reception has a printed list of which cellar doors open on which day and will ring ahead if you want a table. If you plan to taste, leave the driving to someone else: small operators will collect you from the Milverton Street door.
